Biography:

I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts, earned in 2008 from the Rhode Island School of Design, where I studied Furniture Design. My experience includes designing products on behalf of Philadelphia- and New York-based firms, and exhibitions at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History. I now work as an exhibit designer at the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles.

About My Work:

Communication is at the heart of my product and exhibition designs. Whether a chair or a gallery featuring silver, they tell a story about some aspect of human experience. One might come with armrests, and the other with written labels, but both resonate through an innovative approach to familiar ideas.

I take flashes of inspiration very seriously, harnessing the vigor of a good idea from sketch to finishing details. When, for example, I've explored lighting design through the prism (pun intended) of crystal specimens and fiber optics, the resulting product combines interaction with subject matter for a complete user experience. Or, in creating an exhibit on The Wizard of Oz, I designed a Hollywood-inspired display system that brings 1930s filmmaking to life.

The technical skills I've derived from years of hand- and computer-aided drawing, material fabrication, graphic illustration, and writing are essential to my working process. The key ingredients, however, are my creativity in problem solving and the strength of my voice as a communicator. With these talents, I look forward to many future opportunities to deliver meaningful product and exhibition experiences.
